Pros

Good equipment and decent training program

Cons

Three times I have been told that I would be able to take time off and get home and three times I have been lied to. I have been out here for three months now, and still haven't been able to take time off. I just got a load going in to my home state, and thought great, finally I can go home, but at the last moment they hit me with some arbitrary policy which states they wont allow their drivers to deadhead home over 100 miles. From my delivery point to my home is only 175 miles. They said if I wanted to go home that I would have to take a bus. At my own expense. I have deadheaded 300 and 500 miles before to pick up a load, but 175 miles to get me home to my family is too far?

Pros

You get to see the country

Cons

Bad communication, unrealistic expectations, lying recruiters, poor driver management, loopholes to get out of paying you for anything, safety rules go too far and prevent you from properly driving, some safety rules actually make it more unsafe to drive the truck, pay is not accurate, no real opportunities to make it home if you dont live near a drop zone.
