Their Safety Department is very tough, for good reason, yes—but they can be sometimes a little overboard.
Weekend Dispatch and managers are an absolute joke. Seriously. Be smart and get loads that run you through Friday night and Monday morning. There’s over 2,800 drivers driving all over the country and maybe ten staff employees working on the weekends. Come 5pm, headquarters becomes a ghost town but the drivers are still working 24/7. Perhaps hire a few more Driver Managers and Dispatchers for the weekend, maybe?
Driver Managers, it’s a flip of the coin. Mine is amazing and genuinely cares. He takes care of me and gets me what I need. But he’s overwhelmed daily with 67 drivers to manage. That’s on the low end. I’ve known other DMs with over 75 drivers on their fleets. So, expect communication to be difficult during different aspects of the day/week.
