Pros
You learn a lot about liars.
Cons
Everything. I have nothing good to say about this company. No other driver ever seems to, either. In a nutshell, every cost is analyzed and a strategy developed to screw the driver and explain it away, no matter what the issue becomes. They will assign loads for which they are charging $3 to $4 per mile and get the truck to do 2,800 to 3,000 per week. That means Stevens will collect $9,000 to $12,000 for the service and pay the driver less than 10% and often less than 5%. Calculate the cost of fuel, equipment, overhead and everything else and you'll have a hard time getting to 50% of the freight charged to a customer, which means they make a profit of $5,000 to $7,000 per truck per week. You the driver are a dime a dozen and they do not give a rip if you leave, there's another sucker right behind you. You'll make about $30,000 your first year as a company driver, if you survive the intense pressure to sign a lease - which you should NOT, no matter WHAT - while they make a PROFIT of $70-80,000 from your work, AFTER ALL EXPENSES. If you leave, they will file a nasty, fraudulent item on a DAC report in retaliation and all of their competitors, all doing the same thing, will avoid you because you will be flagged as a non-sucker who can't be lied to and abused.
