Pros
If you have no where to go, they will give you a place to live. If you have nothing, they will give you something. If you have nothing to fall back on and you can drive, it's a was to make a living in all economies. If you can't drive or have no drive in yourself, you can work in the office.
Cons
Truck drivesr are not humans! We have no physical or emotional need. Drivers are just a truck number. No need for rest or staying in compliance with not only federal law but company rules as necessary. Remember... a driver is only as good as their driver manager, AND THEN ONLY if that manager had once been a great driver.
