Pros

Working from home is not worth the shame-based toxicity that this company micromanages remote positions with.

I had a “good” departure experience and left on my own terms after realizing that I was inside of an abusive relationship with this low-pay, part-time job. And even then I didn’t get so much as a personalized farewell. The position seems a dream at first, but do not fall for it. This company micromanages unrealistic expectations by shaming you. Read the dozens and dozens of reviews here stating the same — they are all true. I am an excellent employee with excellent time management skills and I still wasn’t measuring up according to my metrics; I was often threatened that my job would be taken away from me and I ended up working off the clock every day triple checking Fixes and ensuring personalized notes were written because there was no way to ensure quality while also meeting their efficiency metrics. Clients be warned as well; your “personal” stylist is just auto assigned to you and they only have ten minutes to style your entire Fix. As Stylists we want to curate personalized Fix deliveries for you, but we don’t have the time or the inventory to do so, and then we are shamed when you don’t purchase your entire box. It’s incredibly disappointing that a women-led company that markets themselves as a personalized service isn’t even personally kind to the Stylists who most frequently touch their clients. Management is inside of the same toxic abuse cycle. My Team Lead was a kind-hearted enough woman, but it became very clear that she was just trying to survive inside of her own political game and micromanaging me was part of how she proved herself worthy. Very toxic, very emotionally abusive, and all for no benefits and minimal pay. Apply for Nordstrom’s Trunk Club or a similar service that is not Stitch Fix if this position truly enamors you. Just do NOT work here. Your emotional health will decline. They do not treat their employees well. I honestly don’t know how any of their positive reviews here aren’t planted; I have several friends who are former and current Stylists who all are shamed on a weekly basis. This is not an exception, this is the norm. This company claims to be empowering women, but their internal culture plays women against each other. It is textbook emotional abuse, and you don’t even have health insurance to cover the therapy it takes to believe you still hold value while working inside of their culture. Just don’t.

Pros

- The company started out with good intentions I feel, as we have the ability to set our own schedule and working from home is always a plus.

Cons

- As time goes on, more and more have been taken away from stylists. Our scheduling freedom was removed this year, which was a huge reason most people applied for this job. In other part time jobs, you can usually give shifts away or trade with others, but now you have no flexibility and are expected to work max hours every week. - Stylists have not been given a raise in years and instead are capped after you work here for so long. - Seems like the company is heading in a direction for stylists to be taken over by AI, but we'll see! - You are completely controlled by your metrics, which a lot of times you have no control over because of bad inventory, but will be monitored and put on corrective action + eventually fired if your metrics aren't always where the company wants them to be
