Pros

- 40% off polyester merchandise from China and a few name brands that you can find elsewhere for cheaper - work from home

Cons

Incredibly monotonous and tedious. Management treats stylists like we're inept high school kids who need to be micromanaged down to the minute (literally). I had never heard the term "toxic positivity" until I worked here and it's the best way to describe the culture- they act like everything is amazing all the time and questions or thoughts to the contrary are squashed and even penalized, meanwhile their tech systems are a complete mess and they act like they started the company yesterday. Here's a typical week: - Monday: receive an obnoxiously bubbly and consistently optimistic mass email from your lead/manager, including details of her fun weekend; don't expect to read anything that helps you with your job or connects you to the company. Begin styling (picking items and writing an 800 character note) and repeat, repeat, repeat... - Tuesday and the rest of the week: Style until you develop carpal tunnel syndrome, including reading rude comments and abuse from clients who are upset that you still don't have the inventory that they requested (which is out of your control) - Friday- finally learn how many hours you have to (yes, have to) work the next week, which begins in two days. Is it zero? Twenty? It's always a surprise. Now you can plan the rest of your life around a job that doesn't value you and pays little more than minimum wage - Sunday: your schedule is due for the week that begins that day; you have to schedule yourself down to the minute and if you change you're threatened with losing your job -Monday: here comes that cheery email again.....

Pros

- The company started out with good intentions I feel, as we have the ability to set our own schedule and working from home is always a plus.

Cons

- As time goes on, more and more have been taken away from stylists. Our scheduling freedom was removed this year, which was a huge reason most people applied for this job. In other part time jobs, you can usually give shifts away or trade with others, but now you have no flexibility and are expected to work max hours every week. - Stylists have not been given a raise in years and instead are capped after you work here for so long. - Seems like the company is heading in a direction for stylists to be taken over by AI, but we'll see! - You are completely controlled by your metrics, which a lot of times you have no control over because of bad inventory, but will be monitored and put on corrective action + eventually fired if your metrics aren't always where the company wants them to be
