Do not work here in 2024. Not what it used to be. - Stylist Stitch Fix Employee Review

Pros

Semi-flexible hours and a very nice team leader.

Cons

They just did a massive lay-off and there are no longer any full time stylists. They have taken benefits away from those who need them and given them an ultimatum. They can stay and be part time (with fingers crossed they even get in the hourly tier they want) or quit with very low severance pay. Stylists are told they can change their schedule anytime but then it is looked down upon. No raises after three years and no room for growth. Like others have said, this company seems to be a sinking ship. This scares me because it is my main source of income. Nothing is talked about with the stylists until they get the random lay-off emails. Not even a phone call. Can’t pick up extra hours unless you are meeting your unrealistic goals for at least three weeks. They spend sooo much money on useless groups and meetings just so they can say they have “great work culture” then lay off “valuable” stylists and leaders with little to no explanation.

Pros

- The company started out with good intentions I feel, as we have the ability to set our own schedule and working from home is always a plus.

Cons

- As time goes on, more and more have been taken away from stylists. Our scheduling freedom was removed this year, which was a huge reason most people applied for this job. In other part time jobs, you can usually give shifts away or trade with others, but now you have no flexibility and are expected to work max hours every week. - Stylists have not been given a raise in years and instead are capped after you work here for so long. - Seems like the company is heading in a direction for stylists to be taken over by AI, but we'll see! - You are completely controlled by your metrics, which a lot of times you have no control over because of bad inventory, but will be monitored and put on corrective action + eventually fired if your metrics aren't always where the company wants them to be
