Pros
If you are a 'family' member you can fail horribly at your job and they will give you a promotion instead of termination and then bring in someone else to fix the problems.
Cons
I agree with Sept 17, 2022 and I believe the toxic nature comes from nepotism. Working at a plant I have seen too many times a 'family' member was given positions they were not qualified for and jumped seniority over long term employees what were capable but never even interviewed. This has created horrible morale problems and high turnover because now all of the supervisors and line workers knows that career advancement has nothing to do with hard work or loyalty. If you are really in need of a job then you can get some interesting experience but make sure you understand that you are just a place holder until a 'family' member wants your job. This nepotism management style is affecting employees at the plant level.
