Pros
Some really great people do work there, but unfortunately they are not in the position of power to change many things. The new HQ is beautiful with all the amenities one could ask for, a far cry from the office we previously were HQ in. In corporate roles, the hours are flexible - in fact most peope are not in before 9:30am, and after 5:15pm. Tuition reimbursement is a tremendous bonus for personal advancement, even if the degree isn't a Harvard MBA. Solid, robust benefits package and compensation for corporate and executive roles is at or above market value in many cases. Academic teams and leadership truly care about the value of the education the students get, and are essential to keeping the ship afloat.
Cons
Many people who have been there for 10+ years are treated poorly. Anyone seeking a position of power will have to compromise in order to attain that. This place was wonderful to work for prior to the current administration. The CEO is really not interested in the day to day anymore. What's worse, is the COO, who is waiting in the wings, may be one of the worst leaders I've seen. He could run this company straight into the ground. Taking away floating holidays and eliminating certain benefits disguised as "for the good of the employee" is not a sound management policy, regardless of who you are. While employees may be underpaid, many of them are not foolish. While Academics genuinely cares, they take a backseat to the Operational leadership. Because at the end of the day, its ALL about numbers. This is said point blank in meetings, with the caveat of not repeating it elsewhere. It is a for profit institution. By the very definition, they are there to make money. Numbers=money=profit. By having many unqualified students in MBA classrooms, they make their numbers. This hurts the reputation of the school, and diminishes the hard work put forth by qualified Academians. The scale is misbalanced, as executives are well whereas most employees are barely paid a living wage for what in essence is sales. Many departments have been overrun with unqualified, leaders who have been placed in their role for their relationship with management, rather than on proven performance.
