Pros

I was a Campus Dean and enjoyed my interactions with other Deans. Networking and sharing our difficulties was helpful. It was also good that sometimes we wouldnot agree with corporate and voice our discontent as an entire group. Glad I am gone but I still keep in touch with the people I worked with. Most of them also saw the light and have moved on too.

Cons

Rules, regulations, and policies changed daily, sometimes hourly, by the Regional Leadership. Registration numbers and the pressure to increase registration meant we pressured students who were not capable to learning even developmental coursework to register. Most all students were on financial aid so each quarter there were at least 20 students we knew were not going to succeed (Most were Special Education students with IQs in the very low 80;s. The bottom line was after three quarters they were dismissed after taking precollege classes and owing over 20k in student loans. I asked corporate several time about the ethics of doing this and they would shrug their shoulders and say the student had a right to fail. I would have daily tutoring sessions by highly qualified faculty, but the lack of care for the student was very difficult to live with. Well, that and the gossip, backstabbing, and corporate personnel changes that brought new rules that often werent handed down until the campus broke the unknown rule.
