Pros

1. Competitive salary packages 2. Good work–life balance with flexible work hours 3. Stable organization with consistent business 4. Supportive onboarding experience for new hires 5. Job security and predictable workflows

Cons

Leadership & Management The Badge team faces several leadership challenges. Communication from management often lacks transparency, and decision-making tends to be centralized. While Senior manager may be supportive during onboarding, employees sometimes experience reduced engagement over time, along with unclear expectations around recognition, growth, and promotions. Leadership interactions can feel authoritative rather than collaborative, and follow-through on commitments or promises may be inconsistent. This has contributed to declining trust and morale within the team. Team Culture & Collaboration There is a strong presence of internal groupism, where certain groups share information only within their circle. This results in uneven knowledge distribution, reduced collaboration, and limited opportunities for others to gain visibility or contribute meaningfully. Employees who remain quiet or simply agree with decisions appear to receive preferential treatment, whereas those who try to bring improvements or raise questions may feel overlooked. This has created a work culture with low psychological safety. Technical Practices & Product Transparency The team continues to rely on an outdated tech stack with very little initiative toward modernization or innovation. Several product issues exist, but they are not always escalated or openly discussed. Instead, the product is often presented as functioning smoothly, which may mask long-term risks. The team environment can feel overly relaxed at times, lacking accountability and urgency. Skilled contributors may feel undervalued or unsupported, which can lead to disengagement. Overall Environment The combination of limited transparency, cliques, outdated technology, and inconsistent leadership practices has affected team motivation and long-term growth potential. While the work gets done and the business continues to run, the team’s culture and innovation levels remain areas of concern.

Pros

The individual contributors you work with are fantastic people and the products we work on are really interesting and have significant impacts on patient care.

Cons

Sports Medicine has unfortunately changed from a dynamic and collaborative group to one being led by toxic leadership. Rather than working together and trusting team members, they now have an in group and out group. If you’re in the in group, you can say anything you want without being questioned and be automatically trusted even when your track record says otherwise. If you’re in the out group and your message doesn’t align with what the leadership wants to hear, then you are automatically wrong and not to be trusted.
