Pros
Good exposure to medical device industry. If your goal is to go into sales, find an OR role, avoid SPD like the plague. The OR role is very cool, however. You get lots of exposure to surgeries, build relationships with surgeons, techs, nurses, etc. The technology is fantastic as well. My favorite part of the job.
Cons
Overworked, understaffed, and underpaid. Teams experience high turnover, supervisors have too many people under them to be effective, schedule changes too much. The people as individuals are great, but the supervisor to specialist ratio is too large.
