Pros
None that I can think of. It's work if you need work but that is all. The production workers are union. Everyone else is not including maintenance and other hourly positions not directly related to the production lines.
Cons
Work is typically six to seven days per week. They do not care if you need time off for family or rest. Work, work, work is the motto. The owners make a lot of money and the people who make that money for them are simply a commodity to be discarded. You can do what you're told and agree. You do not get to make decisions. You do not get to change things that are wrong. Equipment is jammed into every space creating safety issues with moving about the production floor.
