Hell of a lot of cons, if you've worked for a few other companies, you get to see how poorly managed this company is, and how poorly they treat staff. Example? I left for a company that turns over only a fraction this company turns over, yet I now make 5 times what I made here..... Should have left years ago! Another example? They have an annual 'staff bonus' which is usually small anyway, in my time there they shelved this multiple years running for all staff, but the select few 'senior management' paid themselves their bonuses which amounted to an obscene amount between a couple of dozen staff, in comparison to a much smaller bonus to all staff, which would have made much more of a difference to the lower-paid individuals lives. It's one of those companies full of people desperate to climb the ladder and obtain a job title they believe elevates them in society, people who will stab anyone in the back or step over their own mother to climb one ladder rung higher, example? You bring ideas to the table.... they brazenly get stolen by some unknowledgeable oink who passes it off as their own 'idea', yet 2 dozen other people were in the same meeting and deny they heard you speak, it's a bit 'pod people'-ish. Company is operated akin to the country of India, with a 'caste system', example? If you have a job title of say 'project manager', you can shout, scream, abuse, and embarrass someone with a lower job title such as 'junior project manager', but someone with a 'director' job title can do the same to you, makes for an unpleasant work environment. Management comprises of 'old guard' who like to keep things as they were back in '96, they run the company like their personal lives, 'safe', boring, repetitive, not open to new ideas (not any good ones anyway). Company bleats on about how 'flexible' they are with work hours, and continually touts itself as an employer who values 'work/life balance', yet almost all staff are salaried and don't get overtime, yet are expected to put in 20+ hours a week of unpaid overtime. Bonuses and additional income is very poor to non-existent, yet the company makes absolutely millions in Leeds alone, and billions globally. Frequent rounds of redundancies because the price of a barrel of oil fell 4 cents, redundancy rounds are more used by these 'old guard' managers to get rid of personnel they don't like.... i.e. individuals who refuse to 'kiss the ring' and suck up to management for no reason, like other reviewers said, very cliquey. You can be amazing at your job, but if you don't laugh at these 'managers' weak jokes, or continually ask about their boring families and lives, and feign interest in them on a personal level, stroking their ego, then you won't do well at this company. You can be truly shocking at your job, have a genuine lack of product/market knowledge, but keep climbing higher if you only 'suck up' to these insecure senior managers. Really racially biased company, at first I thought it was just down to the area the company is located in, and general locality attitudes, but some of the racism I witnessed by certain individuals firsthand was quite shocking, especially in senior management.
