Pros
Training was really fun and was interesting to learn everything about ISP services. Pay was 17/hr to start so that was kind of nice, especially to work from home.
Cons
This place will drown you with calls if you work in the call center. There were very few days where we weren't 100+ calls deep with only 10 people taking calls. The company has expanded past a threshold where they can keep their SLA's in check. On Top of the World became probably 60 percent of the calls due to poor implementation. Wise (OSP who did the installs) were some of the most trash tech's and did nothing but make our job harder in the call center. They would constantly miss appointments and add new appointments because they were in the area and were paid per install, so they would go door to door to install instead of following the scheduler, which in turn meant that customers who were supposed to get installed one day would be overlooked just because the tech wasn't in the area. It's hard to take pride in your work when you are doing nothing but apologizing about things that are out of your control because of bad business moves. You worked mostly out of 1 program they use called Omnia, but you had at least 10-15 different tabs open with other things to check things for customers (on that note, most of the time some of the main programs would not work so you would have to stall for time), but apparently in April they will be unifying all that into one program. You were expected to keep calls under 10 minutes, which in essence is kind of hard when pushing orders can take 15-20 mins some days. Movement up in the company can be slightly demoralizing because you have to wait a year to be moved anywhere else, and a year in the call center would be tough on anyone. Oh, and it's also mandatory OT in January, and if you happen to be sick in that month at any point, you gain double the amount of points (at 5 they could fire you no questions asked). To top it off, customers are some of the most nastiest people I have ever had to deal with. I have basically been held hostage on a phone with some customers just verbally berating me because there is nothing we can do because we were just in a call center position. Trying to explain to customers that your ISP has nothing to do with netflix will only anger customers because they don't understand, and if it's inconvenient to them, they just get more upset. The service sucks and the call center takes the beating so it's no wonder that turnover is a big problem.
