Pros

I've worked at some of the bigger tech companies, and I've freelanced to the beat of my own drum. This place beats the hell out of any of those places. Here's why: -They Trust You: You know when you bring an awesome idea to your boss and they shoot it down for no reason? Or they check in 7 times during the day to "see how you're doing" aka micro manage? That doesn't happen here. Your ideas are used and you're left alone to get stuff done. -Work on Your Terms: Work wherever. Times are flexible, and the official office hours are 10-6 for all you late-rising folks. But I'm an early riser myself, which is no problem. We've even got someone working from different spots around the world as they travel. As long as you get stuff done, you're good to go. -The Team Is Cool: You won't have a problem starting a conversation with anyone here. And most times that conversation will carry on with a couple beers into the night. It's a cool, driven group of people that all work towards a common goal. -The Work is Meaningful: It's a growing product that helps a ton of people, and you get to directly impact the direction and feel of the product. Every decision you make can help someone sell their first product or make their first dollar as an entrepreneur, so that's a pretty cool feeling.

Cons

Look, I love this place. So the cons are more like "you shouldn't work here IF". So, YOU SHOULDN'T WORK HERE IF: -You Need Moderate or A Lot of Direction/Management: We all know what our goal is, and we're trusted to do whatever it takes to hit that goal. That means little management on a day-to-day scale. If you need someone to tell you what to do or give you projects, it'll be rough for you. -You're Not The Top Person Where You Work: The people here are the best at what they do. That means a high level of production and quality of work. If you're not already the top person where you work, it won't work for ya. -You Aren't Used to Driving Towards One Single Goal: Lots of people try to make "busy work" and add lots of little goals to hit that ultimately mean nothing. We all drive towards one single goal, and if you're not used to doing that then it's not happening for you. -You Don't Care About SaaS: We live and breathe this space. We talk about apps that don't even have 50 subscribers yet. If you don't love SaaS or the tech space, then this won't be your kind of job.

Pros

No joke, the Sumo team is truly a family! #SumoLife We work hard, we hang out, we have fun, and we all love what we do. We have a small team full of ROCKSTARS (some of the smartest people I've ever worked with) that are generating amazing results while helping businesses all over the world make an impact. You've probably heard many times that a company has a great culture but I always took it with a grain of salt b/c honestly who is going to tell you the culture at a company sucks. But since joining the Sumo Fam this is TRULY a place that has an AMAZING culture, an amazing team, and we are all Our leaders focus heavily on keeping that culture alive. If you want to be apart of a special team, doing special things come join the Sumo Fam --> it will be one of those moments in your life when you look back and know this was the point in time that changed the trajectory of my life in an amazing way.

Cons

Besides the fact that we're located on E. 6th street so I have to drive from North Austin every day and play this game called "People Don't Know How To Drive On I-35" #FirstWorldProblems...there isn't one complaint from me. When I leave the office each day, I'm excited to go to sleep so I can wake up and come back #NoBS
