      Good Benefits but Blatant Discrimination - Anonymous employee Sun Communities Employee Review

      Pros

      Overall the environment was decent to work through ...... at times. Benefits are good, but expensive for a family and when they added on their COVID tax

      Cons

      Management is unaware of what is going on in other departments. Upper management is far removed from day to day going on with employees HR department does not work to help employees when complaints are filed against managers, instead they will actively work to write you up. Clear discrimination against employees who announce they are pregnant, have small children or are unwilling to work OT due to family obligations or a work-life balance. Compensation is below national average and most employees are working 2-3 other jobs to make ends meet.

      Pros

      My coworkers are great and most have been with Sun for many years (which speaks volume on the kind of company Sun is, in a good way). The support I get from my team, is appreciated. The pay is decent and lot rent discount is appreciated as well. Hours are typical for my position. I think Sun is a good company to work for, if you are looking for a permanent long-term position.

      Cons

      It's a lot of work at our property due to multiple storms causing damage to the community, so it is hard to leave on time because there is always something to do. Working traditional office hours +some, it is hard to make it to appointments and being new I definitely don't want to miss any work.
