Pros

No hassle incorporating telecommuting days. Good infrastructure for remote meetings, conference calls, etc. Decent environment physically, though not luxurious - the bank watches its pennies. Good team-oriented culture - I wouldn't say politics are completely absent, but I have never been denied information or access to needed systems or information upon demonstrating a legitimate business need. The bank puts an effort into retaining employees long term, and it shows in the loyalty and effort people put out. Managers are culturally inclined to listen to what staff has to say. Overall a rather pleasant place to work.

Cons

Well, they don't pay like the major financial centers but hey, it's Atlanta (or Orlando or RIchmond, Va.). Technology changes take a long time to filter up and out but again, there are 30,000+ employees to support so one understands a measure twice, cut once philosophy. IT is not especially seen as a competitive advantage as, say, a brokerage or hedge fund might view it. These are piffles as far as I am concerned. The one real con is that their culture differs from the big city banks in terms of how they value IT functions - e.g., a senior DBA is a VP in most places. Not here.
