Pros

If you like empty promises and a intimidating work place I guess you'd love it. In the ordinary Tool Rental Stores of Sunbelt it seems as if for the most part the employees are content. The specialty divisions are a whole different matter as they do not run upon a 8 AM to 5 PM structure like the Tool Rental Stores do.

Cons

Forget compensation in any PC that offers 24/7 service. In the case of employees that drive company equipment or transport equipment know what the Department of Transportation has regulations that you must follow even if you do not have a commercial drivers license. If you do not like putting yourself in liability at breaking DOT Hours of Service or vehicle accident by intimidation instead of following the law and the need for safety this is not a place to even consider. Training is by their convenience not based upon the need of training to do your job safely. Not uncommon to be told to repair or fix a piece of equipment you never saw in your life let alone you knowing the hazards presented such as in generators or earth moving equipment. A real challenge to figure out if you need a key to start the equipment sometimes, lol. Can you imagine telling a customer I am here to fix that big forklift but I am not licensed to operate it? Then how do you know if you fixed it then, ask the customer before he tells you to get off his property and have someone take the equipment with you.

Pros

The local teams doing the work in the branches are the only team members that make it a positive experience.

Cons

Senior field leadership and it's byzantine hierarchy is filled with matrixed leadership jobs for people who have been good soldiers with long tenure. They don't know anything about the actual work at the branch level or in the markets. Often they spend thousands at meetings in hotels and at bars in the evening which is extremely unprofessional. These same individuals press their political advantage to make sure the people they don't like get dismissed or marginalized and often move people into leadership to virtue signal DEI values. C-suite has been lost since 2021. Budget forecasting, fleet planning, and execution has been weak and lacks strong leadership position. Geographic territories don't make any sense and regions are oddly divided up based on tenure loyalties and not the needs of the business. Senior leadership can be counted on to work Tuesday - Thursday but have no problem asking front line employees to diminish their salary with 60 hour weeks, and pointless Saturday shifts.
