Pros

Some flexibility in your day to day routine

Cons

Horrible communication on all levels. Managers seem inexperienced and act like they do not know how to manage or conduct a responsible and respectful conversation. The leaders are poor with leading by example and following state protocols for caring for individuals. Dishonest work environment, truly no solid teamwork, favoritism, work holidays with no holiday pay. Will not let you get overtime and help your team without serious consequences. Too much going on without anything exactly being accomplished. The compassion is mostly fake as the nurses spend maybe 5 mins with a patient and the aides are expected to do a lot for the patient and to communicate well above what should be expected with little to no follow up or feedback. Very disappointed in this work environment and never recommend this employer to peers.

Pros

Enjoyed hospice work and helping patients.

Cons

Micromanagement, no overtime allowed, ever changing policies, disorganized management. When I first started here, my manager was wonderful and strong clinically. It seemed like she was pushed out and new manager and director took over who clearly didn't understand the company, roles, and processes. I was told they could not help even with simple tasks when we are forever short-staffed and could not provide support even picking up the phone ringing off the hook, and just laughed about it. It's not funny to see staff constantly overloaded, staff not carrying their work load not held accountable. Lower weekend management quick to raise their voices and assume staff is doing the wrong things or talk about other staff openly and critically without understanding common hospice workflow and processes. Turned into a numbers game and low morale. Lots of coworkers burnt out, emotionally breaking down at work, and snapping at others. Office constantly having power outages and cockroaches. High workload and high turnover.
