Pros
You get to work with incredible children that will teach you a lot about life and parenting.
Cons
This company doesn’t have the client’s best interest in mind nor does it have the best interest of its employees in mind. At the children’s home, the staff wasn’t always honest with the parents on the decisions being made on the behalf of their child/teen. There was a high turnover rate for both the direct care staff and the program managers. The company didn’t seem to want to partner with those who sought to continue their growth/education and several good program managers left due to this issue. I also noticed that this company doesn’t seem to promote honesty or integrity. The program manager as of early 2016 seemed to involve herself in the staff drama and get herself entangled in the rumors rather than focusing on the clients. The direct support were willing to do whatever it took to dodge fault of any incident that occurred when certain clients were in their care and instead shifted blame to staff that were not with that particular client. (As of 2016). I have never seen such a good opportunity to serve turn into a toxic high school-like gossip job. The HR department will not support you either and would rather send you to the wolves which goes back to being willing to shift blame to avoid consequence.
