Pros

The first thing that attracted me to Sunrun was the mission. It's no small feat to install around 5 MW of residential solar in a month, and the company and it's Co-CEO founders are driven by this mission to change the face of energy as we know it. Once I started working here I was engaged and inspired by the people I found at the office. My colleagues, both in and out of my department, are incredibly intelligent and motivated people who create a fun and energetic working environment. The leadership recognizes good work and strong potential and rewards that work with trust and the possibilities for advancement. The company continues to keep its culture strong even while buckling down on the big challenges we are facing - snacks and drinks in the kitchen and two company meals a week help this! Sunrun is definitely what you make of it, but if you put something into it you'll get a lot out of it.

Cons

Though environmentally inspired, much of the current team seems to place environmental issues on the back burner behind a focus on an exciting business model and start-up culture. I would love to see more internal focus on the environmental benefits of the work we're trying to do, and the challenges we still have to face. Since Sunrun is still in its adolescence, we have a lot of learning to do. In a stressful environment, there are times that good advice is not heeded if it comes through improper channels, which can cause employee unrest. We're still a little nearsighted in terms of problem solving, which occasionally feels like we're only backfilling to solve issues rather than trying to look for broader solutions that will save time and money in the future. However, this is improving and we'll continue to learn and grow!

Pros

Pay per hour isn’t bad and you just kind of walk around the store and no one from the company will really check up on you besides whoever else is scheduled with you

Cons

Such a disorganized company. The stores you get sent too is based on your address I had put a different home address for personal reasons and explained I actually lived somewhere else said they’d made accommodations, they lied and didn’t even though they could’ve. They change their standards whenever they want I got fired because of a requirement they changed mid employment, I was making the requirements that was told to me when I first got hired but after a month they decided to change it and let me go the same day because I “wasn’t meeting that requirement” when it literally was just made up. So many pointless meetings everyday where they just repeat the same stuff everyday. The only successful people at this position are people who constantly harass customers in the store and so many people would get banned from certain stores due to complaints but the company will not punish them or anything if anything they almost encourage this behavior. Do not work for this company they’re a scam. They say they offer a “rate reduction” program to homeowners but it isn’t, they just want to get people trapped in a long contract for years that they just keep raising prices. They are not an honest company. The hours are terrible it is mandatory that you work every weekend and they make it a huge deal if you try to take it out saying you can get written up for it.
