Pros

Great coworkers. Plenty of inventory. Quick shipments. Corporate provides sales tools. Top of the line technology. Sales managers were extremely responsive. Good benefits.

Cons

Bonus structure was constantly changing and difficult to attain. NOTE: The bonus structure has changed since I was employed there and now provides more opportunity to earn bonuses. Many Zoom calls and/or phone conferences. Work 6 days per week to properly manage accounts. Expected to spend at least four days per week traveling to visit accounts in a large territory. One day allowed to work from home as an "office day." Office day would be spent confirming appointments for following week and completing sales/follow-ups from current week's account visits. Would often spend Saturdays catching up on admin work and preparing sales presentations for following week's appointments. About 40% of Surya's business in 2019 came from online sales. Often difficult for accounts (designers and furniture stores) to compete with prices of major online dealers. At the time of my employment there was not anyone at Surya enforcing IMAP pricing of online retailers, so online dealers could list products at any price. Frequently received calls from accounts stating their customer found a rug cheaper online.

little direction given and too much funnels through only certain people that make it a bottleneck
