I honestly can’t think of a single positive thing about my experience as a Paralegal working for the partners in the professional liability department (Center City Philadelphia).

Cons

Hostile work environment — the professional liability department is fundamentally flawed in its entirety. 3 of the 4 partners in this group lack professional decency and respect for their employees, often dehumanizing those who work under them. Poor communication, highly disorganized and downright awful to work for the attorneys in this department.

Mostly good people, good benefits, convenient work location

Cons

Pay was already somewhat low for the cost of living, and there were no cost of living adjustments or annual raises. The only options for advancement were to become a paralegal, meaning go to school (and take on debt, because you aren't doing that on the salary they pay for the role and they don't offer tuition benefits).
