Let's split into sections. Tech Stack: This company uses tools which were used by the cavemen. I mean, WordPress? You interview a candidate about coding questions and you make him add CSS on WordPress websites? We can slice the entire company into two parts. People who develop the actual product, and people who work on that product to serve their clients. First option is actually good. You get to work with the engineering team, solve bugs, add features etc. If you got the offer for the second category, ignore it with no second thought. They'll say that there's a great learning curve in the company, but unfortunately there is no such a thing there. Feedback system: Your chances of getting an increment completely depends on your team lead's feedback. Do you expect a good one? It depends on how nice you act with them. Sadly, your teammate's feedback for you will not be considered. If you ever had an argument with your lead, forget about appraisal. Management: I don't think management really cares about employees, because it tolerates the misbehavior of some leads who are in important positions. You cannot shout at a fresher because he didn't complete an assignment on time. You cannot blame some junior for your fault/ignorance. Even though you're a superior, the other guy deserves a sorry when you blame him for something which is actually your mistake. Management ignores lots of things. When people start to corner you, it is time to apply for new jobs, because sooner or later, you'll be fired. Here's my story: When I finished my college, I declined really good offers for Symphony Talent. Reason? the salary. This is a mistake I'll never ever forget in my life. I was not assigned in to any real project, because, my team lead thought I wasn't ready. Once he shouted at me because I didn't wait for him to answer a question and went to some other lead for clarification. Another time, I was blamed for his mistake, in a group call. I did not get a chance to speak for myself. There are lots of incidents proving that this is a toxic environment, but you understood the picture right? Recently, I was fired. Getting fired is okay, but what kills me is that I haven't learned anything worthy (well, who cares if you know Wordpress?) during the time. Now I need to start from scratch.
