Pros
Good base salary, although salary and benefits are determined by the customer company for the project you are working on. I have been in the biotech industry for over 15 years and my salary was slightly higher than other companies that I interviewed with. BUT the horrible benefits package that we have cancels out the increase in base pay. On my project to cover myself and my spouse on their mediocre benefit plan (Aetna) it costs me $650 per month plus I have high copays, deductibles, and co-insurance.
Cons
The benefits are horrible and if you try to take a look at them before you accept the job offer they are impossible to get from the Syneos recruiter There is no accountability so mediocrity prevails at Syneos. The sales managers work for Syneos and their job is to keep the client (company) happy and keep territories filled. As a result they hide a lot of things from the client and allow inept employees to keep their jobs by hiding how awful they are. It's a really bad set-up for the clients and for the employees. If you are a total slacker and can BS your way through the interview ,then Syneos is the place for you because they will keep you around forever and will just shuffle you from one project to the other. After working in this industry for over 15 years I have truly never seen anything like it!
