Pros
CRA training is thorough, well structured and the trainers are extremely knowledgeable and helpful
Cons
Once the training was completed however, for 5 months I did not have much work. Instead I had to assist the setup department with TMF related admin tasks. When I finally did get assigned studies both were rather complex protocols and it was mentioned that the sponsors had requested a senior CRA. As such it was extremely challenging to acclimatise to the new role on 2 complicated protocols. Assistance was hard to come by and the project managers/ clinical leads made you feel daft and uncomfortable for asking for assistance. Their frustration was warranted as the resource request demanded a senior CRA however, this was out of my control as the LM is the one that assigns studies. Long story short, it was a steep learning curve, one that can easily cause burnout. There is also a lack of a team culture so it can be an extremely isolated role. The company could do more to change the management culture if they want to retain staff. Overall, training was great but it was downhill after that
