Pros
One of the best experiences I’ve had. People work hard and creativity was all over the place. Travelled to various places, building collaborative partnerships. Was given room to identify improvements opportunities and develop “digital transformation” roadmap for the group. Then Goldman Sachs was introduced as the new private equity partner. Now come the CONS!!!
Cons
Goldman Sachs enters the picture and we’re told “everything is fine”. No need to worry, this is a “good thing”. Then, we’re told there are massive budget discrepancies compliments of the former leadership who was let go a couple months earlier. We get an interim CIO who continues echoing, “everyone keep doing what you do”. Fast forward couple months, the acting CIO informs me that due to budgetary issues, the company is “restructuring” and my role is no longer needed. Well ain’t that something outta left field. Wasn’t even given an opportunity to transition into another role, just told that it "wasn’t your performance". Like that makes being laid off feel better somehow. Talk about turning my view around. I wasn’t the only one… smh. This is a multi-billion dollar organization and my role/salary made a huge impact to the budget? Seriously?
