Pros
The Culture of Good is an amazing part of the company. The company really encourages individuals to volunteer. Employees have 2 paid days per year to do volunteer work of their choosing. The CEO has a program called Town Hall 20. He gathers 20 Store Managers and Sales Representatives from around the country for a face to face meeting. This is where the front line gets to ask questions, present ideas, and have a say in what is not working. He also is transparent about his vision and what the company focus will be. Benefits are decent.
Cons
I was employed for almost 6 years. Through those six years I experienced multiple pay and infrastructure changes. The last change resulted in me declining a position and taking a severance. The past 2 years the company has focused on expanding at incredible rate bringing more work, less pay, and poor work life balance. Compensation is not one that encourages one to promote. Promoting to a Market Manager overseeing 5 locations resulted in over a $10,000 a year pay decrease. In 2015 the company rolled out a program to increase their revenue by the end of 2016. This required unnecessary tracking of nonsense and increased busy work at the store level resulting in frustrated managers and unhappy staff. The company has recognized that this will be a very slow year and are projecting lower than normal sales however goals are not being adjusted to be more attainable. The company speaks of a family culture referring to everyone as TCC Family. This was how I felt for the first 4 years. The last year and a half, not at all. As the company has hyper focused on expanding the culture has shifted and not for the better. Turn over rate significantly exceeds the industry average. Due to poor company reviews, recruiting talent to fill positions in the stores is incredibly difficult. While my District Manager did not require her Market Managers to write positive reviews, she strongly encouraged it so that we could raise the rating in hopes of getting more quality applicants. At one time advancement was very possible. The current structure has decreased that opportunity.
