Job is ok but salary sucks!!! - Sales Representative TCC Verizon Authorized Retailer Employee Review

Pros

There really isn't any pros to working here but when business is good you can make a good decent paycheck. That relies a lot on bonuses and commission cause the salary is $5/hr which sucks. Feast or famine there. There were weeks I made less than minimum wage. You get 2 weeks vacation after 1 year of service which is nice. They say they are family oriented but that's only for the corporate office people not the people actually making the business. So to be honest there really isn't any pros to working here.

Cons

I would say the whole company is a con. Scott Moorehead the owner and ceo says he has an open door policy and will listen to anyone. He brought about a thing called Scott that's stupid for you to submit things for him to consider to benefit the company or the employees. He would review them all he says but when you do it there is no way to know if they have been reviewed or even read. You get no response from him about it or anything else for that matter. The salary is $5/hr which is pitiful and ridiculous. Vacation is only $10/hr. It doesn't matter if you averaged $30/hr for the past year you will only get $10/hr for vacation. So there is no reason or incentive to take a vacation cause those that don't do their job make the same as you on vacation. Now to the real story is they keep raising the bonus goals as to keep you from hitting them and commission is not that great either so all you can truly depend on is $5/hr. I would say that the job is easy but now they are putting way too much pressure on their sales people to compete with verizon corporate stores and make each sales person sell $60 plus in accessories per phone box that goes out the door. There goal is to have every store or sales person to be at like $75 or $80 a box in accessories by the end of the year, december 2015. There are a few stores that lie, mislead, and deceive customers forcing them to take accessories whether they want it or not. Now they are the only company in U.S. that have a device to revive a water logged phone and its called redux and they force every phone or device being sold to buy it and even includ it in the prices they quote so customers are forced to buy it. I would not recommend anyone working here for this company because you are nothing but tech support and customer service and that comes before your needs or your families needs like a good decentsteady paycheck. The only good thing they have going for them is their backpack giveaway on August 1st which each store gives away about 300 of them. This is their give back to the community but they don't do anything for their employees. As a matter of fact you get written up for every little thing like if you do not sell a dish TV or a verizon home fusion you pip and after 3 your terminated even though verizon home fusion was down for about a month you still get penalized. So you all can make up your own choices and opinions but I would not work for them at the current pay structure cause it is set up for upper management to cash in not the ones doing the work and taking care of customers.

Pros

Easy job to obtain Some coworkers can be fun/easy to work with

Cons

Very little room to move up and provide little to training for new hires even though there is a position within the company titled “field trainer” you’ll never see them though. Being micromanaged throughout the whole day during the sales process and downtime. Pay never changes for the better, they add more metrics for you to hit but don’t pay anything for these metrics such as perks, reduced pay on VHI, CSGA, even things such as higher tier plans don’t pay as much anymore. Constantly changing your bonus structures, making it harder to obtain The profit “sharing” bonus is a joke as well they’ll pay you $0.04 on the dollar you earned last year but for the execs they’ll get the same plus a 2x multiplier even though they do nothing for the company.
