Pros

well established company in great financial position. Offers flexible hours to part time employees. Average pay and benefits. Great place to work if you are looking for flexible hours to work around your schedule.

Cons

Was a great place to work until the merger Now everything has changed. The branches are opened 7 days and only have 4 holidays where the bank is actually closed. The hours have been extended so most branches are opened till 8PM. Most times the only people in the branch on the extended hours are the employees. What a waste to time and money. But we are "America's Most Convenient Bank", so the story goes. Try telling that to the staff that have to work on Memorial Day or Labor Day or better yet Mothers Day. Wonder where Senior management is spending their holidays? In this electronic world there is no reason for a bank to be open those types of hours. The money it cost to staff the branches and keep them open could be better used elsewhere or even added to the bottom line. The pay scale is low for the job requirements. New hires coming in at the same level, doing the same job are starting at a higher pay rate than the current employees. There have actually been situations where someone had left and returned a few months later at a much higher rate. The products are awful and fees outrageous but the staff are expected to sell them. It is very difficult to sit with a customer who is on a fixed income who has been charged hundred of dollars in overdraft fees and has no money left to live on. The staffing levels are very low and the company is seeing a large turnover. Senior management, while knowing the staffing is low turns a blind eye to the situation. If you complain you're labeled a negative person. The hourly employees have to stay within their scheduled hours, but it's the unfortunate salaried employees who are working 50+ hours a week with no compensation or recognition. Senior management just doesn't see it or care as long as the work is getting done. The company is focused on the customer to the point where systems are in place to monitor the customers experience dealing with the bank. That is a great feature, however it would be even better if the employees were treated as well as they say they treat the customers. Oh yes they have surveys for the employees but interestingly enough the results always favor the company. There are so many unhappy employees just waiting for the job market to turn around. The hours and working conditions are overwhelming and even though they say they recognize their employees, they do not. Plain and simple they do not. It a sad comment to make because a few years ago it truly was an employer of choice.

Pros

The management team was supportive, and the branch had a strong team-oriented culture. Because it was a smaller branch, employees had the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, collaborate across roles, and learn from one another. Team members regularly shared ideas, provided constructive feedback, and supported each other's professional growth, creating a positive and rewarding work environment.

Cons

The main areas for improvement would be compensation and scheduling flexibility. At the time, I felt the pay was somewhat low relative to my previous leadership experience in retail management. While compensation may be competitive for some entry-level banking roles, I would have appreciated a stronger alignment between pay and prior supervisory experience. Aside from that, my decision to leave was based on pursuing a different career path rather than any issues with the company itself. TD Bank offers a professional work environment, supportive teams, and valuable opportunities for growth and development within the banking industry.
