You could have a worse job in life. - Tech TDS Telecommunications Employee Review

Pros

It beats pumping gas at 7/11. The everyday people you work with are some of the best in the business. I have made friends for life there. They have a really good maternity leave program (at least they did) not sure about it anymore. They have a good training program, meaning you can request about any CBT you can think of and pump up your resume for your next career move.

Cons

The pay at TDS is sub par with the rest of the telecom industry. Little or no chance of advancement. Transfer is out of the question unless you want to pay for it yourself. Benefits are continually cut, to the point of breaking federal regulation, and no one seems to care. Sure get a lawyer and sue, all the money you would be gotten back will be eaten up in legal expenses. TDS won't mind, they have a legal department on staff for just that eventuality.

Pros

Competitive pay and an outstanding benefits package, including health insurance, a 401(k)-company match, tuition reimbursement, and generous paid holidays and sick leave.

Cons

Recent layoffs had a major impact on the Field Marketing department, leading to reduced resources and higher workloads.

Pros

- Great benefits - Great PTO/Sick time - Promote from within - Rigorous training schedule - Great on the job resources - Ability to work autonomously - Competent supervisors - Work from home - A fun job for people who love educating others on how things work and assisting them with technical issues

Cons

- Starting pay may be a little low for some people - Miscommunications about what departments handle what issues - Call center with varying amounts of calls per day (not necessarily a con) - Metrics for calls may be stressful for some
