Pros
It's a large company and there are good benefits as a result- like good health insurance, a car wash in the parking garage and bagels on Friday.
Cons
I worked at their WKYC office in Cleveland, Ohio. From the start, it was a very catty place to work with a cutthroat environment in the sales department. If you like to celebrate ignorance and lose IQ points, I would consider a job here. Management is inept and will go behind their employees back to get their (very large) bonuses and take credit for others work constantly. I have worked in this industry for over 10 years and have always felt that I have learned things from jobs and I can honestly say that the only thing I have learned to do while working at WKYC/Tegna is what not to do. The sales team is full of people who are not educated on the products they sell and the management has unrealistic expectations on how accounts will perform because they are too busy going out to get drunk during the day than to educate themselves on the proudcts they sell. Also, time to upgrade the old Dell laptops that weigh 45 pounds...
