Pros
Life at TEGNA, just 3 weeks in, already feels different than life at Gannett. Even employees that have been with the company for years have a renewed sense of purpose and are re-evaluating the way we do business. People are open to new ideas and better solutions, and new hires have lots of opportunity to make an impact. The brand is fun and attractive and has infused new life. The work has always been substantive - employees get really credible experience - but after spinning off the publishing business, we're able to move faster and smarter.
Cons
The business is complex, and can be difficult for new hires to wrap their minds around and navigate. However, the scope is better defined post-spin and already feels more nimble. The company still has some work to do to truly embrace the digital era, but seems to be motivated and moving in the right direction.
