Average benefits. Expensive compared to salary but you will have 401k match and health insurance. You'll have a big name like Tegna to put on your resume.
Cons
Low pay to start. A 3% cost of living is considered top tier with most employees being granted less. Poor management that doesn't take interest in career growth. You will be a replaceable cog in a machine and management doesn't take much interest in retaining or growing employees. Saw many employees fired or quit over one time minor incidents where management did not support them. Traffic department is often overlooked and under appreciated by the greater company and station. Upper management is out of touch. During the pandemic we were expected to return to in-office work for the sake of "culture" despite over 95% of the department working remotely for stations outside of Denver.
