Pros

I had an amazing opportunity to meet such wonder individuals. All of my peers were great. I can truly say, this was the first job I've worked at where everyone (the entry lvl associates) were cool. We were like family. We had fun banter and we'd play games when we needed a mental health break. I will shoutout Sarah N for being the only mgr that fought for BOAs and valued her morals more than corporate games.

Cons

Management will fire you over anything. If they dont like you, they will write you up to get you out the door. You WILL be overworked and underpaid, I promise. You have to complete weekly reports that can easily exceed one thousand lines. You are graded weekly like you're in elementary school. If you fail to do a report, that's a percentage of your bonus gone. You will never really get the entire bonus. Also, if anyone on your team is out on PTO, you have to cover for them. Mgrs will not cover, even though they applied to MANAGE. POAs and BOAs are paid the same $20 when BOAs do so much more work. During my time there, I've seen 20-30 people get fired or quit because the so called "leaders". There's def a difference between a leader and manager. They have weekly meetings to gossip about you to other mgrs, creating bias just in case you're moved to another team. Moving teams is very likely if it's a business need since tek cant retain talent. If you look on job posting sites, the role will always be open because of the extremely high turnover. I asked my direct leadership for support and never received it. I emailed the RC and still poor support but what I did get was a "quick chat" to express how I overstepped. The managers are malicious and retaliatory. I think often times, people forget people in power are not random immune from being human. They can be childish, petty, etc. If you do work here as a BOA, prepare to not have a work life balance and to do the jobs of 4 of people because you're the end of the road. You're the last to find out is something is messed up. Also, they dont mention it during the interview or job posting that you will perform various task from payment processing, weekly audit/reporting and/or invoicing, and system recon. That's a surprise tool they'll spring on you later. When you're overwhelmed and finally bring it to your mgr, they say in so many words that it's nothing they can do because the department is short-staffed. If you express a concern, be prepared for you to do extra work to help alleviate your stress because they're not going to hold anyone accountable but you. You could always be doing more to "help" everyone else even though you shouldnt have to considering everyone gets paid more than POAs and BOAs. All the mgrs except 1 fake it until they make it or until they conform into the low life corporate bully they need to be to lead with fear instead of open communication. If you look at them, none of them have a life outside being toxic at work. Oh almost forgot, everything is kept a secret. When I got promoted, I was told not to tell anyone. You could literally be doing the work of a SR BOA and do not get paid for it. If you work here, you will have to kiss up to them. Thankfully, I always had two jobs, so what they thought would be something that was going to hurt me, really didnt. 0 out of 10, wouldn't recommend unless you're toxic too! There's two sides to every fire, but they only listen to what the mgrs say. Tuh, they even fired a woman after giving birth because she was taking "too many" breaks.

Pros

- Decent pay to start. - Account manager is responsive, engaging, and a serious advocate for you and your contract. - Gain access to Udemy Business to build more skills.

Cons

- The benefits suck. - High recruiter turnover with highly variable experience trying to work with them-- some are good, most are not. - Once you are placed, you will be promised regular meetings and then never hear from the recruiter again. - Trying to find a new contract if you are unhappy with your current placement is nearly impossible and I don't believe they are incentivized to help you move at all. - You have to manually request a raise and depending on how you negotiated your contract, you may or may not have the ability to receive one. - There is a cap to how much they will pay you for the contract so even if you work that position 4 years, once you hit that cap you are stuck. I originally submitted my resume with TekSystems when I had finished my degree and never heard back. Many years later, I was approached on LinkedIn by a TekSystems recruiter for a position and he had no idea I was in the system previously. Working with him was good, and I did get the position. Then I never heard from him again and I've had 4 or 5 different recruiters whose names I could not tell you if I tried since then. There's supposed to be monthly calls, they never happen.
