Pros
They do what they do very well. Plenty of opportunity to work. There is no lack of contract opportunities. If you are in need of work, or desire a start in the contracting field, they will find you something. Generally this will be within your field of expertise, and at your level of experience. Pay is prompt and accurate. Contracts are generally well written, documented, and have specific goals.
Cons
You will outgrow the company. Like the headline says, they are a Body Shop. There is only one goal, to find as many contracts as possible, and fill them. Once you are on that contract, you are on your own. The occasional lunch with your recruiter/account rep is simply digging for other opportunities at your current contract. Professional development is non-existant. If you question any part of the program (compensation in particular) you will find immediate and varacious push back. Fully expect that your billable rate, and your compensation rate are going to be further apart than you ever dreamed. It is actually embarassing what they will bill the client for your services, even those of us who are legends in our own minds will blush. Keep in mind that this is the ONLY motivation for them. All of the above is actually a pro if you simply want to stay at the exact same level you started out at with them. If you want to actually develop a career, even as a contract professional. Then there are other companies out there that will be more to your liking. TEK does not pipeline contracts. You will experience unpaid bench time. The contracts are generally augmentation of current operations. You will not see many opportunities for expansion into design or project work.
