Pros
If you are liked by management and end up on the right accounts, you will have a smooth time here and can have an easy path to advancement within the department.
Cons
The upper management tends to play favors with who they want to advance and who they believe is best to perform the hardest work. If you excel at the actual tasks within this position, you will be moved to accounts where you will be required to do even more work. This is often done without recognition or reward, and in a way that will reduce the size of quarterly bonuses. You will also often hear contradictory advise from upper management, such as you should never have to work over time, focus on what's important first, and make sure you are interacting with your coworkers, not just focusing on your work. But then you will be chastised and forced to immediately jump from one task to another and be so overloaded you have no optioned but to isolate yourself and work overtime.
