Pros

The only reason I stayed with the company for as long as I did was because of the benefit package. TELUS paid for most of the benefits, which meant very little had to actually come out of my pay.

Cons

My problems with this company are numerous. 1. The department was extremely understaffed and because of this, I suffered with overtime many, many times. I was typically working 6 days a week, at 8 hours a day for 5 days and 12 hours for the sixth day. I was on-call frequently and wasn't even paid some kind of premium for being on-call. 2. There was virtually no room for advancement. I tried multiple times to move within the organization, but management did everything they could to keep me where I was. I had been promised promotions for over 2 and a half years without ever seeing it come because it was "always the wrong time". 3. We rarely ever got any performance feedback. Always being left in the dark about how you're doing your job is very irritating. 4. Lack of training was a huge drawback. They merged my department with another, expected us to do their job for them even though they didn't need to help us out, and did not provide the training needed to actually be able to help them. 5. They expected us to also help out another department because they were understaffed also, even though we were too, but then gave us crap when we didn't or the other department didn't meet our objectives for the year.
