Merit Goes Unrewarded - Part Time Associate TJ Maxx Employee Review

Pros

A few select weekends of the year the employee discount is raised from 10% off to 20% off. Decent deals on name brand merchandise.

Cons

Very little upward mobility. They say there is but there is not. Train employees in just one area, but throw them into other areas they're not trained in (my coworkers complained of this) Merit is noticed, but not rewarded. Instead, it is taken advantage of so that you end up doing more work than your slacking coworkers. Upper management takes advantage of employees initial willingness to please (with call ins especially). Will give you just up to the cut off for full time hours so that you are not full time. Catty and gossipy culture. The managers too (so your information is not safe with them from other employees). Multiple managers that do not coordinate with each other well. Sometimes you're not sure which rules to follow. Employees come and go like a revolving door.
