Pros
There is somewhat of a discount for employees. Nothing to brag about. The HR person was cool. Very easy to work with, They will work with you on scheduling. You would get your days off if you asked ahead of time. The store really wants to promote within if they can.
Cons
Signing up guests for credit cards was very annoying. Management really pushed us to get people to sign up. If you're applying for cashier, watch out for that. Team huddles were mostly about that. It seemed your value to the store was based off how many customers you could get to sign up. At my store, gossiping was a big thing. Also the store manager would make you feel unappreciated and did not seem to want to understand why you do not want to work at 100%. I started off as a custodian along another person. That person ended up walking out during our team huddle on our first week because our store manager was berating us. I wanted to walk out then and there too. There was also very little hours working part-time. Little to no opportunity to work extra hours. Hours went to managers and the team leads. I moved too backroom. We had to break out the pallets within our part time shift and also before the next days truck arrived. It gets rough towards the end of the year with Halloween and Christmas. Massive pallets to break and backroom would get cramped. You feel cramped and mostly stay at the assembly line separating merchandise. I dreaded going to work the next day.
