Pros
TNTP, specifically ITF, helped me become the teacher I am today. They provide clear, direct, and in-the-moment feedback throughout the pre-service experience doing everything they can to prepare you for your first day of teaching and beyond. You receive in-depth support with lesson plans, are taught Teaching Like a Champion key components for classroom management skills, and given a coach to help you through any areas of growth you might have. Although, ITF is not responsible for finding your job, they do everything they can to help you find placement including (but not limited to) job fairs, job opportunities posted/emailed, and support with resume building. The program is constantly being evaluated so the staff can provide the best support possible for new teachers. My coaches were always available to help me through whatever I needed. Training does not stop once you've started the school year, but continues throughout with more targeted sessions, through Marian classes, and through support from fellows.
Cons
Pre-service training is hard work and requires a large time commitment unpaid. You're day does not end when you leave your classroom. These things can be intense if you don't plan for them so make sure you do!
