Pros

The only pro is what you will see in another post. You will get licensed. If you have not ever sold insurance then this can be a stepping stone. Let us emphasize CAN. Meaning you can go anywhere else to get your license- it's not expensive.

Cons

Left this company thinking I wasted my life for 2 years with them -I found my current job and am so grateful. Very little communication, if I had a dollar for every time a team lead or manager did not answer their phone, I'd have more money than I would get for compensation. The comp was always sub par. And by sub par I mean absolute garbage. Imagine selling a policy that was $1000 for the year, you do not get a percentage. You get what they say and they won't say until 2 weeks into the month! It's now January. Imagine waiting till the 3rd week of January to find out what you will be making for the whole month. Further, the comp isn't "you make a sale and you Make $x" it gets broken down. For most months, you will need to make 40 sales to even make the max. sales from 1-14 $10 sales 15-18 = $12. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. If you were independent you could make soo much more money it's disgusting. The greed and the lack of leadership. The majority of the people who have been there 4+ years are snakes and will do what they can to keep their job. I have never been so angry because of how the company spits you out on the sales floor with no proper training and you end up listening to the trainer talk about themselves instead of the information you need to sell. If there was another company you were looking at and debating on which one, go with the other. You probably will not make it here long, after Medicare's annual enrollment period, the Sales OPS team cuts you - permanently. They tell you that you are welcome back for next AEP but why give them your time even further when it's been proven that you do not matter to them- only THEIR bonus matters.

Pros

Good pay, supportive coworkers, and opportunities to grow and learn in the insurance field. Some leaders are very encouraging and helpful, The job teaches strong communication and problem solving skills, especially handling customers over the phone.

Cons

The work can be mentally draining at times due to difficult customer interactions throughout the day. Leadership styles can vary a lot depending on the team or manager, so adapting to constant changes and different expectations can sometimes be stressful. There are also frequent changes within teams and processes.

Pros

There's money to be made, not outside of AEP/OEP much. they train you well and most of the managers are flexible and caring.

Cons

Only certain programs are worth it there I was in their Aetna direct program first and that was good, leads knew who they were talking to, what to expect etc. However their programs outside of direct ones are bad, they trick people into calling in with the promise of a grocery card that does not exist. The most vulnerable community who needs the most help, made me feel like I was a scammer. Or they thought they were calling the carrier or Medicare themselves.
