Pros

Most of the craft and first line leadership are good people to work with and try to perform their jobs to the best of their ability. Benefits are generally good but recent executive decisions are starting to degrade them. Pay is good for the area.

Cons

TVA Nuclear executives change significantly every two years on average. The new leadership then brings their hirelings from whatever utility they came from. This results in a fairly constant change in how the Nuclear division is expected to function. The site VP's are replaced almost yearly. The recent reorganizations were handled poorly in that there was no real rational behind the decisions on who stayed and who was shown the door other than it appears that the decisions were made via an apparent popularity contest. Most of these decisions were made by plant management who were onsite less than 2 months. The new site VP even bragged at a site wide meeting he was brought in to get rid of people. This led to continued poor morale of the remaining middle and first line management and individuals taking actions to ensure they looked good vice what is best for the team. Plant management meetings were routinely referred to as daily a** chewings or daily beatdown meetings. Tempers often flared as personnel attempted to shift blame for schedule failures on other departments or individuals on a routine basis. Most days were generally stress filled with what was normally referred to as the "crisis of the day". Under the current leadership I would not expect this culture to change anytime soon.
