Pros

Generous Discount-60 % off new arrivals and 50% off the rest including markdowns Friendly managers and coworkers. We all get along really well! Often snacks in the breakroom Team Rewards

Cons

Low pay and barely any raises for all the work we do. Extremely short staffed. Will be working alone in one concept with a long line and customers wondering why I cant get any help Extremely physical job so be prepared to be on your feet all day with only one 30 min break that goes by so fast. Countless sign changes because Talbots offers countless promotions and many promotions overlap eachother and confuses the customers Your occasional rude and entitled customer but that's to be expected in retail The Tag Sale- The Tag Sales are also very confusing to the customer, takes a long time to complete and they always fall off the hanger Corporate can often change their mind at the last minute about promotions. Shopping Parties- A shopping party sounds fun but trying to invite others with people's busy schedule is hard.

Pros

None. This company is garbage compared to how it used to be.

Cons

Slave wages, not enough hours for anyone except management because the private equity company that owns us has cut our staff to a skeleton crew even on busy days. Management and associate alike are stretched super thin to the point of exhaustion. Even as a sales associate, there was a time I supported myself on a Talbots salary. Now I have to choose between paying my car insurance or getting an oil change. I used to get 30+ hours a week even as a sales associate. Now I'm lucky if I get 20. Health benefits are a rip-off. The company in my observation has had a time finding and maintaining good workers. If you value your livelihood, run fast and run far.
