Pros

Individual contributors are great. They tend to hire really well at the IC level and the boots on the ground are usually top quality. Benefits are good and comp is ok.

Cons

Absolutely terrible and clueless senior leadership. The E-team could not be any worse. Product decisions are terrible and result in an unstable product with rushed features and little to no cohesiveness throughout their sprawling software packages. The churn at the exec level is high and for some reason they keep hiring completely unqualified people who baffle the staff. Moral is getting really bad, employee feedback ratings are dropping, and they have no clue what to do. They don't deal with toxic leaders and sometimes even promote them because they tend to ride on the work of others below them. It's honestly hard to watch and I couldn't take it anymore. Two recent exec hires were the final straw for me. I used to love this company but over the last couple years I have watched it devolve into a really crappy work environment and the CEO and other leaders getting more and more detached from the reality of the product and company. I'm sure there are plenty of people who love this place but the further you get up the ladder, the more you want to run away.

Pros

I've worked for Tanium over 5 years and have seen a lot of change. The pace is fast and the teams are small so if you want autonomy and ownership this is a great place to work.

Cons

They're constantly reorging, it would be nice if the exec team could make up their mind on how they want the org structured and stick to it. They tend to do whatever other "hot" companies at the time are doing. The founder still plays a massive role and the c-suite just seem like his puppets. No one wants to be in office and ppl constantly complain but no one in leadership listens. It used to feel like they cared about what the employees say, but now everyone seems beaten down and just does the work so they're not laid off. Pay is also low compared to competitors. You have a decent annual salary but no bonus and no IPO in sight. You'll get RSUs but the price keeps going down with a promise to go back up. I've only seen it go down in my experience so just be mindful that whatever your base salary is (unless you're in sales) is going to be your total earnings.
