Pros

Technology is solid and works for discovery and patching. - Other tools in the 'suite' of Tanium are not best of breed and more like a "us too" moment. Pay is progressive and benefits are decent. RSUs are a decent package.

Cons

- CEO may not believe in PowerPoints but customers want to see the why in a visual not just through a nod of our voice and a demo. - CEO needs to respect all talents individuals bring and not try to strangle the company to only doing it his way. So rigid in his approach that you can only do demo's his way. New CMO started in 2021 and the CMO was opening up about who he was, where he came from, his family, in a few brief slides. CEO comes out the gate "Yea sorry when I see PowerPoints, I zone out " - Tanium is getting passed up because of lack of innovation and simplification. - Tanium doesn't have a simple way for customers to deploy their own agent and rely on other tools. - Tanium sales processes are long, complex, and not easy for approvals to win deals. Multiple hands get in the kitchen. - Mid-market deals get higher discount than the largest customers which makes a huge gap between divisions. - Culture is very toxic. Most of the reviews are in the honeymoon phase on this website. They ask for a review after 30 days of employment and send it out to boost their image. - No career growth. - They reward senior people with deals rather than actually aligning accounts to territory. They cherry pick deals and give them to senior Tanium reps to keep them happy. Example: Rep leaves, deals that are in pipeline to close are sent to senior reps to ensure they continue to hit their numbers and will work deals outside their geographic area just to get a sale. Very bro centric. - Leadership isn't in it to win at all costs. They claim teamwork but it all falls on the individuals to do what's necessary to win. Very 'whats in it for me' attitude. - Motto one team one fight is a lie. They claim this but there was multiple instances where 'agreements' to split commissions would be made but when the deal came in those agreements 'expired' somehow. - No work life balance even when they say 'unlimited PTO' they will make you feel bad for taking time off work. - Highly unethical culture and very vindictive - Had multiple people offer me drugs or ask me to find drugs while employed at Tanium. Leaders looked the other way.

Pros

I've worked for Tanium over 5 years and have seen a lot of change. The pace is fast and the teams are small so if you want autonomy and ownership this is a great place to work.

Cons

They're constantly reorging, it would be nice if the exec team could make up their mind on how they want the org structured and stick to it. They tend to do whatever other "hot" companies at the time are doing. The founder still plays a massive role and the c-suite just seem like his puppets. No one wants to be in office and ppl constantly complain but no one in leadership listens. It used to feel like they cared about what the employees say, but now everyone seems beaten down and just does the work so they're not laid off. Pay is also low compared to competitors. You have a decent annual salary but no bonus and no IPO in sight. You'll get RSUs but the price keeps going down with a promise to go back up. I've only seen it go down in my experience so just be mindful that whatever your base salary is (unless you're in sales) is going to be your total earnings.
