Pros

I like how Tanner has different units. That way, you get experience working in different specialties when you pick up shifts on other floors. The pay is great, and you are compensated well. Your pay differs based on the floor you work, the shift (day or night), your employment status (full-time or PRN), float differential, overtime, and so on. Tanner encourages their workers to go back to school. They offer tuition reimbursement i

Cons

The patient-to-nurse technician ratio is high. Working here involves high acuity as my floor is always short-staffed on nights. You are overworked

Pros

The organization has a strong mission and serves an important role in the local community. Many employees are deeply committed to their work and care about doing the right thing for patients and colleagues. This can be a place to gain experience and build foundational skills for individuals early in their careers or those seeking stability.

Cons

Opportunities for professional growth and advancement are limited, particularly for employees who remain with the organization long term. Career pathways and promotion criteria were not always clear or applied consistently, which made advancement challenging. Leadership decision-making did not consistently incorporate input from internal subject-matter experts, which at times slowed progress and limited the effectiveness of improvement efforts. Accountability at higher levels of leadership appeared uneven, while expectations remained high for frontline and mid-level staff. Compensation was below market for several roles, including leadership positions, making retention difficult. HR processes related to hiring, compensation, and employee relations lacked transparency and consistency, which impacted trust and morale.
