Middle management is highly inept. Lots of false starts, bureaucracy and politics for such a small size company. No direction. IKEA acquisition is still being figured out in terms of fit into strategy so causing a lot of spinning wheels to show movement. Too many tentative hires without a clear team charter. Lots of juvenile behavior on the part of middle management, little management training, lots of middle school level bickering to get work done instead of being data driven, silos already apparent within teams where "XYZ is not my problem unless it's in my OKRs". No real HR or support, C level execs are mostly encouraging and inspiring leaders but are spread far too thin to help run the business operationally; although rapid hiring is meant to improve the situation. Company struggling to adjust to its new pace, not enough muscle to understand high-growth mode whatsoever due to lots of both junior level hires w/ no real world experience AND a long standing exec team that has not experienced navigating growth for sometime. On the floor, it is a punitive environment with no room for error or disagreement on some teams. Disagreement w/ exec will get you in hot water with management, so go with the flow and do as you are told, or else. Lots of hypocrisy and not practicing what middle management preaches, phony baloney proclamations around "Middle Path listening to understand" that in practice are completely misused, management not following through and 1-way communication.
