Pros
Working at TR is a great place that values remote work and having a family. It's not uncommon to see a child in the background of a meeting call or share family updates and that's totally supported amongst teams. In fact, the teams that you work with are some of the best and talented people that you'll meet. There's a lot of really humble and amazing individual contributors. This is the only reason TR retains any good talent on average for about 1 year but if you double click into it further, they all end up leaving because of leadership. It's not quite possible to stick around longer solely for those good people.
Cons
I don't even know where to begin. It's kind of wild how drastic the experience becomes when you move from IC to leadership. It's like everyone at this company that is an IC and is in the trenches, is super passionate, and willing to grind to get projects moving along but wow the leadership does basically everything opposite from what basic leadership is expected to do. The senior leadership is incredibly demoralizing, toxic, creates divides, perpetuates rumors, fear mongering culture, and incessant gas lighting. Note that nothing your team does will ever be enough because goals and objectives can change literally on a whim all because the CEO decided last minute they "didn't like" something. The minute a mistake is made, your job is at jeopardy and everyone that you worked with is also at risk of being on the chopping block. Anyone that is currently in senior leadership is basically a "yes person" to the CEO, and the directors at the company are praised for how well they play into these politics. It is totally normal for leadership to degrade and undermine teams of ICs. Leadership really has a knack for establishing zero psychological safety. It's only a matter of time before they end up running it all into the ground (which I'm confident they're on their way to doing). If you have ANY integrity in your work, STAY AWAY!!! Any good talent that is still there is already one foot out the door.
